Angela Cathey, MA, LPC

Angela J. Cathey, MA, LPC, is a consultant who works with individuals and organizations to promote better connected, purposeful, and effective living through behavior analytic principles. She has over a decade of clinical experience treating human suffering and promoting human excellence using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her training in ACT, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), traditional Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (Beckian CBT), and behavior analytic principles has included extensive work with Rob Zettle, PhD, Gareth Holman, PhD, and others.

She is deep believer in integrative, principle-driven work and tends to focus on systems and functional analysis of direct and non-direct (verbal) contingencies in constructing her case conceptualizations and treatment plans. Her clinical experience has included treatment of severe ‘pathology’ including, but not limited to: Obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and psychotic disorders. She is a functional contextualist and now works largely in organizational contexts training leaders and teams to live balanced, connected, and effective work and home lives through the creation of healthier contexts.
